Retirement Wishes to Sheila Gaines in our Smith Center Office
Sheila Gaines located in our Smith Center office has chosen to retire and enjoy life! Friday, September 29th was her last official date for full time retirement. She has seen many changes in banking from encoding the bottom of checks and mailing them back to customers in their statements to imaging of the checks returned in statements and e-statements! And there has been many changes in the technology side of banking.
Sheila began working for First National Bank in 1999. She has worked on the deposit side of the bank. Sheila joined The Guaranty State Bank and Trust Company staff when we purchased the bank in March, 2014 and made the transition for us and our customers a much easier process. We will certainly miss her but you may see her occasionally on a part-time basis!
She is looking forward to travelling with her husband, Al, as they visit their son and his family and her daughter and her family. There are three granddaughters who are very active! Sheila also enjoys reading and quilting!
Welcome to Brittany Pennington in our Smith Center Office
We hope that you will stop in the Smith Center office and help us welcome native Brittany Pennington to our staff. Brittany grew up on a farm north of Athol. Her family moved to Smith Center when she was in grade school. She received degrees from Fort Hays State University and was a School Psychologist for 10 years. Brittany then decided to open a branch office with Waddell & Reed as a financial advisor. She is in the process of completing her MBA in finance—just 2 classes from being finished!
Brittany and her husband, Phillip, live in Smith Center and they have two children, Kenzi, 6, and Sawyer, 5. A dog, Patriot and a cat, Squirt, round out their family! In her spare time, Brittany loves to play the piano, violin and French horn, she operates heavy equipment at their rock quarry and ride motocross.
